This is Roxx. I often make posts on Beth's blog in light of her busy schedule, to help her keep up with the scrapbooking side of things. This time I'm posting a post Beth made on her classroom web site. It made me cry (a good cry :0). It reflects the huge heart that is my sister, and I love her for it. She's the best frog kisser I know. :0) -Roxx"This morning when I got to school, I had a little friend visiting me in my classroom. Yes, a little frog! The cool thing about this is, I LOVE frogs. Mrs. Hassel would not have been happy at all to find a frog hopping around her room, so I had to rescue him before she got here. The thing is, I REALLY, REALLY LOVE frogs. My love for frogs goes all the way back to my sophomore year of high school. My sister and I went to a leadership camp because we were both on our school’s ASB board. At leadership camp, the theme for the week was “Kissing Frogs.” What we learned throughout that week was that each of us had lots and lots of frogs in our high schools and it was our responsibility as leaders to reach out to them and help them feel welcome and part of the school. We were sent back to our schools to, “Go out and kiss as many frogs as we could and turn them into princes and princesses.” My sister and I set out on a mission to do just that. We stood at the front doors of our high school for an entire year and greeted every single student who walked through the doors. This led to many conversations and we got to know every single student in our high school that year. It was amazing. The best part about it, we met so many amazing and interesting people that we may never have met. It has been a life goal from then on to reach out to as many people as possible, get to know them and do my best to make them feel welcome, important and special. In return, so many people have done the same for me along the way, including the students I work with every day. Who can you reach out to today? Have a great weekend!" - By: Teacher Beth
