Charlotte Update!
Today was our next visit to the orthopedic doctor. We feel so lucky to be seeing the best of the best for elbows. The good news is that there is still nothing broken, although the doctor just can't believe it. Apparently kids don't "just dislocate bones" they break them. So she's an odd case. He did another whole round of x-rays just to be sure. I thought they might do and mri or ultrasound today, but he said it's way to early for that. Ligaments take a lot longer to heal, so it's not worth looking at their progress yet. He said, depending on her range of motion at the next appointment, we might look into that then. The bad news is, she can absolutely NOT put any weight on it for at least 4 more weeks (and probably not even then). They removed her cast and put her in a splint. This does allow her to take it off and begin to do some simple exercises to regain range of motion. She's a little freaked out because it doesn't feel as safe as the cast did, but she did like washing her hand for the first time in 2 weeks. She did experience more pain today when the doctor pushed on things, but that's normal and she's a trooper.

Awwwww! Poor thing! We did the cast thing when my 12-yr old was nine. I think adjusting to the cast being off was the hardest part for her. Having it on was the hardest part for me....
I'm glad yours isn't dealing with a break, though. A small bit of good news in the midst of all the x-rays and dr's appointments... =/
